3M™ Active Optical Cable (AOC) Assemblies for CX4
Applications
 3M's new CX4 active optical cable assembly provides high-speed transmission over 100 meters of multimode fiber for high-performance computing and other ultra high-throughput networking environments. The 3M AOC assembly for CX4 applications transmits four parallel channels each operating at up to 5 Gbps and is designed to meet the SFF-8470 standard, which is compatible with InfiniBand DDR and 10Gbase-CX4 Ethernet standards. Using industry leading VCSEL technology and a new fiber coupling design, the 3M AOC assembly for CX4 applications provides excellent performance value and is cost effective. The CX4 interface is a 34p paddlecard with contacts populated on each side of the PCB.
