FCI Announces Launch of Microsite and Support Program for Flex Connectors

ETTERS, PA. (September 22, 2008) -- FCI, a leading supplier of connectors and interconnect systems, is launching a service and support program around its line of connectors to terminate flexible circuitry (FFC/FPC/CIC) to assist customers in easily selecting the flex connector product solution for their design requirements. The program focuses on the new dedicated flex connector microsite, which will allow customers to quickly find the products they are looking for, along with customer drawings, performance characteristics and technical information.

FCI is a leader in flex circuit connector technology, and we offer a great breadth in our product line. As our product family continues to grow, we want to help both existing customers and potential customers quickly access the information they need to select the right connector, as well as to support them in designing in the flex connectors in their applications.

The flex connector program simplifies the product selection process, and provides quick access to products, documentation, and packaging information, via a dedicated web site. Technical support is always readily available to answer questions about products and sample requests can be fulfilled quickly.

FCI is one of the leading developers and manufacturers of flex connectors, with products varying from the traditional 2.54mm pitch to 0.3mm pitch. FCI pioneered innovative features such as back side flip actuation, allowing the cable to be locked into place with one hand, as well as ZIF with prehold, which provides enough retention to hold the cable in place while the lock is actuated. The connectors are ideal for a variety of applications, particularly in connecting an LCD screen to the PCB, such as cell phones, handheld electronic games, car navigation systems, medical equipment, industrial equipment, ATMs and POS vending machines.

FCI offers flex connector products with ZIF (zero insertion force), LIF (low insertion force), and non-ZIF; upper and down contact options; vertical and right angle orientations; surface-mount and through-hole terminations; and in contact spacing options all the way down to 0.3mm, with finer pitch products on their way. Other features, such as optional cable locks and additional mounting devices, insure that FCI has a solution for almost any application, no matter how demanding.
