TE Connectivity Heat-Shrink Tubing For Indicating High-Power Circuits in Vehicles and Equipment
TE Connectivity has expanded its line of Raychem RT-780 heat-shrink tubing with an orange-colored version meant to identify high-power circuits in vehicles and equipment. The tubing has been hardened to withstand the potentially damaging effects of contamination and decontamination of nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) agents.
Tested to SCX-15112 or SCX-15111 for survivability in standard military vehicle fluids at elevated temperatures, the tubing meets the flammability and fluid resistance demands of current military ground vehicles. It has a temperature rating of -55°C to +175°C. The tubing has been tested for NBC contamination survivability, including testing in live agent tests with HD, VX and TGD for interior and exterior exposure, and testing to Army TOP 8-2-510 for NBCCS including decontamination according to Super Tropical Bleach (STB) and Decontamination Standard #2 (DS2).
RT-780 heat-shrink tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio and is available in diameters from three-eighths inch to 2 inches.
The new orange color tubing meets the requirements of the Raychem RT-780 Type I product specification and is compatible with RT-780 Type 2 molded parts and RT-1014 adhesive. It is provided in similar spool quantities as RT-780 standard material.
