
TE Connectivity introduced BATTU Heat Shrink Tubing
TE Connectivity (TE) introduces its new BATTU heat shrink tubing. This flame-retardant, adhesive-lined tubing is made from a polyolefin jacket with a thermoplastic adhesive inner wall. It is specifically designed for power cable to terminal applications in harsh environments, such as battery cables in industrial and commercial vehicles. It provides excellent electrical isolation, mechanical protection and moisture-resistance. This semi-rigid tubing also offers a degree of strain relief, and it withstands operating temperatures up to 130°C.
BATTU tubing has an approximate 2:1 shrink ratio, and has been optimized in size for fast application to speed production. Standard sizes accommodate typical power cables from 16-120mm2 (6AWG to 4/0 AWG). Additionally, it is provided in convenient cut lengths to help prevent splitting that might result from improper cutting on the plant floor. Offered in black, red, orange and yellow, it supports color coding and identification.
