TE Connectivity's New MAG-MATE Terminals with Multispring Pin

MAG-MATE terminals with Multispring pin combine insulation displacement connection (IDC) terminals with a press-fit Multispring pin to enable the ability to directly connect magnet wire to a PCB with no soldering or welding.

TE's Multispring pin offers the highest normal force for PCB connection without the use of soldering or welding and is an ideal solution for applications with multi-layer PCB’s. The integration of TE’s Multispring pin permits the removal of the motor connection for maintenance (no more than 2 times) with low stress to the PCB hole resulting in no plastic deformation or loss of the gas tight connection.

The introduction of these terminals to the product offering now allows for the termination of aluminum magnet wires using MAG-MATE terminals with Multispring pin, allowing your customers the flexibility to use aluminum instead of copper magnet wires in their motor designs which could provide significant material cost savings.
