PRESS RELEASE
TE CONNECTIVITY ADDS CABLE ASSEMBLIES TO INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET FAMILY
-- Rugged Cables for Plug-and-Play Networking on the Factory Floor --
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Jan 23, 2009 - New Industrial Ethernet cable assemblies from TE Connectivity simplify networking on the factory floor. The tested, ready-to-go assemblies, available in either shielded or unshielded versions, use tough industrial-grade PVC-jacketed cable for rugged performance. For robust performance in a potentially noisy industrial environment, the shielded cables use a combination foil/braid shield and terminate in shielded modular plug connectors.
The cable assemblies are offered with either IP20 or IP67 sealing. The IP67 versions feature a quick-connect bayonet coupling that meets IEC 61076-3-106 Variant 1 specifications. The coupling mechanism offers positive locking for reliable connections in harsh environments. The housings are polarized to prevent mis-mating with IP67 modular jacks. The new cable assemblies join the expanding lineup of IP67-rated, ODVA-compliant performance connectors suited for EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and ControlNet applications.
The Category 5e cable assemblies are available in standard lengths from 2 to 20 meters. Rated for 250 V, they meet UL AWM20276 and UL VW-1.
